Matured in a refill European ex-sherry hogshead, this has taken on a deep golden hue.
A mild nose feel, with Werther’s Original caramels – rich, rounded and smooth. This develops into custard cream pudding, then steamed sponge pudding.
An unctuous texture with crème brulee and crème caramel becoming more toffee-like with a hint of molasses.
The addition of a little water brings fresh custard poured over a flapjack biscuit base;  ater some bosky traces, and quite mineralic. Surprisingly well balanced for its age, this is European oak maturation at its most appealing – toffee and homemade tablet in the finish.
