The two companies split and demerged in August 2013,
enclosed newspaper article that appeared at that time.
The split was 50/50 and there is now no commercial connection whatsoever between.
In the split HL obtained a number of brands including OLD MALT CASK,
DOUGLAS (of Drumlanrig), HEPBURN’S CHOICE and DISTILLER’S ART
as well as THE FIRST EDITIONS
– in terms of blend HL secured the
DOUGLAS, HOUSE OF PEERS, LANGSIDE and JOHN PLAYER SPECIAL blends.
